  • The Fashion Act

    The Fabric Act
Ensure equitable compensation and rights for garment workers while also investing in responsible U.S. apparel production.

    The Bottle Bill
On April 25, Albany is voting on legislation that could keep plastic out of landfills (which the beverage industry is against). Article

States with modern bottle bills offer double New York’s amount, at 10¢ per bottle — a practice proven to increase recycling rates to 89%. Over 1.1 billion plastic bottles end up in New York landfills each year. Increasing bottle return deposits from 5 to 10¢ could divert 773 million plastic bottles from the trash, drastically increasing recycling rates and supporting the Bottler workforce (which hasn’t had a pay increase since 1984).

    Choose2Reuse Bill (No.1003)
Requires all NYC fast casual restaurants to require reusable containers

    – The Farmers Act: sign this petition
The farm bill governs the way our food is produced, distributed, and consumed. Costing taxpayers $100 billion each year, the current system props up the same industrial agriculture system that led us to health and climate crises by supporting commodities over communities. Learn more here

Food Donation Improvement Act (passed Jan 2023) facilitates food donations from businesses in order to prevent food waste and improve food security.

    – NewStandard Institute’s Petition to take action to see the fashion industry bloom into a fully sustainable version of itself.
